Ante la complicada situación que vive el ex mariscal de campo de los 49ers de San Francisco, un artista decidió compartir un trabajo que hizo sobre él, mismo que se ha vuelto viral en las redes sociales.

Final drawing: “The (Un)Chosen One: A Man's Destiny.” 14” x 22”. Pencil on paper. This drawing has many levels of meaning and, based on the various social media comments that I’ve read, sentiments towards Kaep range from “hero” to “traitor”. This piece embodies those reactions, and everything in between. On one side are the folks who view Kaep as the person giving a voice to the voiceless, and standing up for a group of people who have been largely ignored by mainstream society. Conversely, there are many people who are outraged at what Kaep has done and, for some of those people, they’d be perfectly content with literally crucifying him for his actions. This piece exemplifies the culmination of Society's sentiment and depicts one group’s clear outrage at what Kaep has done, and now seeks to bestow punishment upon him. However, Kaep is resolute in his commitment. He sets his gaze firmly back at the viewer as to say “I’m ready. I’m not afraid. For I believe so strongly in the cause that I’m willing accept my destiny… while looking you squarely in the eye as you inflict judgement upon me." This pieces highlights the dichotomy of righteousness. Depending on your perspective, he is either “UnChosen One” who is looked upon unfavorably and deserves the ire spewed in his direction… Or he is the “Chosen One” sent to right the racial inequalities that are deeply embedded in our culture, and ultimately establish a newfound level of equality for all. Either way, his destiny calls, and that calling reaches far beyond the football field. Por medio de su cuenta oficial de Instagram, Keegan Hall dio a conocer una imagen en la que aparece el jugador de 30 años crucificado y la nombró: The (Un) Chosen One: A Man's Destiny' (El repudiado: el destino de un hombre').

De acuerdo con el artista, decidió plasmar de esta forma al nacido en Milwaukee, ya que para algunas personas es un "héroe" y para otras es un "traidor" debido a sus constantes protestas por la desigualdad racial en los Estados Unidos.

It’s hard to believe that’s it’s been a year since the first Know Your Rights Camp. Our hope was simple, we wanted to help the people. We wanted to provide the young folks with resources to help them navigate their daily experiences as Black and Brown people in America. We also wanted to help local organizations and community leaders amplify their messages. We wanted the focus of the camp to be on human rights, because often times it is our rights as human beings are what’s being violated on a daily basis. We wanted the youth to know: 1. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE FREE. 2. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HEALTHY. 3. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE BRILLIANT. 4. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE SAFE. 5. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE LOVED. 6. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE COURAGEOUS. 7. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ALIVE. 8. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE TRUSTED. 9. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE EDUCATED. 10. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. We all know that the work is not done and that the struggle continues. This day will always be special to me and I want to thank everyone that helped make it possible. @yourrightscamp @ravisionmedia
